Harmony in Bloom
Commercial Design Brief - 2026
An original collection of two coordinating surface patterns inspired by the yellow Hawaiian hibiscus and the Lute of Pythagoras's fivefold geometry.

Created in response to Nectar & Nest's A Season Collected design brief, the collection explores the relationship between geometric structure and organic beauty.

Harmony in Bloom began with Hawaii’s yellow hibiscus. Learning about Nectar & Nest’s Hawaiian roots drew me to the flower, while its five petals resonated with the fivefold geometry that I was exploring in my work. Elderberry tea with hibiscus is also a personal favorite and a nourishing part of my daily routine.
Lute in Bloom
Lute Lattice

From Geometry to Bloom
The collection began with a compass-and-pencil study of The Lute of Pythagoras, whose nested fivefold forms and flowing curves I translated into stylized hibiscus motifs and repeated lines.
In Lute in Bloom, these elements gather as joyful bursts of flowers and star-like blooms, evoking the season's abundance and possibility. Lute Lattice continues this theme in a quieter, rhythmic coordinate. Together, the designs balance geometric structure and organic form in a warm, distinctive, timeless palette.
